Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Alertify inventory alerts-UM ("Alertify," "the app," "we," "us") collects when a merchant installs it on a Shopify store, why we collect it, and how it is used, stored, and shared. It applies to merchants who install the app and to their customers who interact with features the app adds to a store's storefront.

From the merchant's Shopify store, via the Shopify Admin API:

• Shop domain, store name, contact email, and store timezone
• Product, variant, and inventory data needed to evaluate stock thresholds and build alert content (titles, SKUs, prices, images, inventory levels, collections, tags, vendor)

Entered directly by the merchant, inside the app:

• Notification recipients' name, email address, and/or phone number
• Notification rules, stock thresholds, and targeting settings
• Custom email template text and an optional uploaded brand logo
• A reply-to email address, if set separately from the store's contact email
• WhatsApp monthly spending cap, if WhatsApp billing is enabled

From the merchant's customers, if the storefront "notify me when back in stock" widget is enabled:

• Email address and/or phone number, and the product/variant they subscribed to

Generated automatically by the app:

• A log of alerts sent — type, channel, recipient address, delivery status, and timestamp — used to show delivery history and troubleshoot failed sends
• Last-known stock levels per product variant, used only to detect when an out-of-stock item comes back in stock

• To send low-stock, out-of-stock, back-in-stock, and scheduled digest notifications by email and WhatsApp
• To evaluate the thresholds and targeting rules a merchant configures
• To brand outgoing emails with the store's name and logo
• To calculate and bill WhatsApp usage through Shopify's billing APIs, for merchants who enable that feature
• To display delivery history and usage summaries inside the app
• To operate, maintain, and improve the app, and to diagnose technical issues

We do not sell merchant or customer data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Sending a notification requires sharing the recipient's contact address and the alert content with the delivery provider for that channel. We use the following processors:

• Resend — delivers outgoing alert and digest emails
• Twilio — delivers outgoing WhatsApp messages
• Shopify — provides store, product, and inventory data, and processes WhatsApp usage billing
• Fly.io — hosts the application and its database

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy and only for the purpose of delivering the app's functionality.

We retain merchant configuration, recipients, and alert history for as long as the app is installed on a store, so notifications continue to work correctly. If a merchant uninstalls the app, we delete the store's data within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with law.

The app supports Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks:

• customers/data_request — provides the data we hold about a specific customer, on request
• customers/redact — deletes a specific customer's data on request
• shop/redact — deletes a store's data after uninstall, once Shopify confirms erasure is due

A merchant can request access to, correction of, or deletion of data we hold by contacting us using the details below. A merchant's customers should direct such requests to the store they purchased from, who can relay the request to us.

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on access-controlled infrastructure. Access is limited to what is needed to operate and support the app.

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.
